Last year, wages rose by around 5%, the fastest in six years. Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong is confident that it is a sign that Singapore is having success in transforming its economy to keep on the "winning track", to compete with the fierce global economy. "Singapore is on a winning track but we must never think we have arrived," PM Lee said in yesterday's Mayday rally. "We must continuously find new ways to keep Singapore special and unique," he added.
